The 2010-11 Ranger Women’s Basketball team broke through the ceiling, becoming the first team in program history to win an NCAA Tournament game. The team went 24-7 overall, finishing second in the GLVC North Division. The team also beat Division I Northern Illinois in an exhibition by a final score of 69-63. Jadee Rooney was named All-GLVC First Team, Brittany Beyer and Brittany Hogen were named All-GLVC Third Team. The team went a perfect 15-0 inside DeSimone Arena, including 9-0 in GLVC play. The team earned an at-large bid into the 2011 NCAA Division II Tournament. The Rangers were awarded the number three seed in the Midwest Region. The Rangers opened up the tournament downing sixth seeded Missouri S&T in the first round, 73-55. Parkside then punched their ticket into the Sweet 16, defeating GLVC rival Quincy 73-62 in the second round. The team still holds the best field goal percentage in program history (48.1%).
