Meredith Novak-Swanson will go down as one of the best and most impactful women's soccer players in Parkside history. On the field, Novak Swanson made impacts across the board, serving as a team captain for three years and as a member of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee. A multi-time All-GLVC honoree, Meredith still sits near the top of the record books in both points and goals. Novak Swanson netted 97 career points and scored 33 career goals, which rank second and fourth respectively in program history. Off the field Novak Swanson was an inspiration. She had to redshirt the 2005 season, due to treatment for Hodgkin's Lymphoma, undergoing treatment from June-October in 2005. She then worked to gain her strength back, putting together on of the best careers Parkside has seen.
