Seven Rangers Set to Compete at NCAA Division II Championships

INDIANAPOLIS – The 2026 NCAA Division II Wrestling Championship brackets have been finalized for the upcoming NCAA Championships, with seven Rangers set to compete.

The Rangers will begin competition Friday morning, with winners advancing to the quarterfinals Friday night. Wrestlers who fall in their opening matches will still have the opportunity to battle back through the consolation bracket for a chance to compete Saturday and earn All-American honors.

At 125 pounds, fourth-seeded Shane Corrigan, a three-time All-American, will open the tournament against Jacob Houpt of Seton Hill. Houpt enters the match with a 7-1 record on the season. Corrigan holds a 17-4 record this year, including three wins over ranked opponents and 15 bonus-point victories. He is coming off a third-place finish at the NCAA Super Region V Championships. This will mark Corrigan's fourth appearance at the NCAA Championships.

Second-seeded Jalen Spuhler will face Ty Linsenbigler in the first round of the 149-pound bracket. Linsenbigler enters the tournament with a 21-5 record on the season. Spuhler holds a 24-2 record this year, including six wins over ranked opponents and 16 bonus-point victories. He is coming off a third-place finish at the NCAA Super Region V Championships. The two-time All-American will be making his third appearance at the NCAA Championships.

Easton Worachek is seeded fourth at 157 pounds and will face Jimmie Bailes of Glenville State in the opening round. Bailes enters the tournament with a 28-10 record this season. Worachek holds a 25-5 record on the year, including three wins over ranked opponents and 11 bonus-point victories. He is coming off a second-place finish at the NCAA Super Region V Championships and will be making his first appearance at the NCAA Championships.

At 165 pounds, eighth-seeded Brody Hemauer will face the winner of Nick Delp of Shippensburg, who holds a 21-1 record, or Bo Perkins of Newberry, who is 17-6 on the season. Hemauer enters the tournament with a 17-8 record, including three wins over ranked opponents and 10 bonus-point victories. The 2024 All-American is coming off a first-place finish at the NCAA Super Region V Championships and will be making his second appearance at the NCAA Championships.

At 184 pounds, Sullivan Ramos will open the NCAA Championships with a matchup against Cole Casilio of Kutztown, who holds a 13-2 record this season. With a win, Ramos would advance to face No. 8 seed Dylan Kohn of Lander, who enters the tournament with a 16-2 record. Ramos is 21-7 on the year, with two wins over ranked opponents and 14 bonus-point victories. The freshman is coming off a third-place finish at the NCAA Super Region V Championships and will be making his first appearance at the NCAA Championships.
 
Jordan Blanchard will open his tournament at 197 pounds against sixth-seeded Mason Villwok of Chadron State, who enters with a 17-4 record this season. Blanchard holds a 25-9 record on the year, including two wins over ranked opponents and 20 bonus-point victories. He is coming off a third-place finish at the NCAA Super Region V Championships and will be making his first appearance at the NCAA Championships.

At 285 pounds, Cooper Caraway will open the NCAA Championships against Tyler Doyle of Colorado Mesa, who holds a 7-3 record this season. With a win, Caraway would advance to face No. 8 Torin Forsyth of Central Missouri, who enters the tournament with a 25-5 record. Caraway is 22-10 on the year with nine bonus-point victories. He is coming off a third-place finish at the NCAA Super Region V Championships and will be making his first appearance at the NCAA Championships.

Preliminary and first-round bouts will begin at 11 a.m. at the Denny Sanford Premier Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
