Rangers Claim Third at NWCA National Duals, Match Program Best

Cedar Falls, Iowa – The No. 3 Parkside Rangers wrapped up the 2026 NWCA National Duals with a third-place finish. After a loss to No. 2 Nebraska–Kearney, the Rangers responded with a win over No. 6 Lander to earn third place, matching the best finish in program history, previously set in 1995.

#3 Parkside 6, #2 Nebraska-Kearney 28
The Rangers fell in their opening semifinal dual against #2 Nebraska-Kearney, their only loss of the tournament. At 149lbs, #1 Jalen Spuhler picked up one of the two wins for the Rangers. Spuhler defeated Brady Collins in a 5-1 decision, adding three overall points for Parkside. #4 Easton Worachek also added three points to the Rangers overall score at 157lbs. He had a 4-2 decision win over #6 Cael Robb. 

#3 Parkside 30, #6 Lander 6
No. 3 Parkside delivered a strong performance against No. 6 Lander in the third-place bout. To start things off at 125lbs, Dylan Duvernay defeated Santiago Ramirez in a 9-6 decision. Troy Dolphin had an incredible performance, upsetting #1 Elijah Lusk at 141lbs by fall (4-3)  at 2:41. Jalen Spuhler edged out Isham Peace in a 9-3 decision at 149lbs, while Easton Worachek also won by decision in a 8-5 win over Reid Noble. In the 174-pound weight class, Dajun Johnson was victorious over Maxwell Kiel in a 5-2 decision. Brady Schuh took the 184lb match up, was an 11-2 major decision victory over Sean Crews. Jordan Blanchard got the win against #14 Marvelous Rutledge in an 8-2 decision, while Cooper Caraway also got the victory over Mason Nate in a 17-2 tech fall win at 5:39. With the victory, Parkside secured the third-place finish.
 
The Rangers return to action on January 16 at 7:00 p.m. against Minot State inside De Simone Arena for Youth Night.
