Blanchard Wins 197 Title as Parkside Shines at Findlay Open

FINDLAY, Ohio — The Parkside Rangers made an impressive impact at the 2025 Findlay Open, hosted by the University of Findlay. The team saw nine wrestlers place in the top five across various weight classes, highlighted by Jordan Blanchard capturing the individual title at 197 pounds with victories in all of his matches by fall.

Dylan Duvernay turned in a strong day at the Findlay Open, earning a third-place finish at 125 pounds. Duvernay opened his tournament with an 8-6 decision victory before rolling to a dominant 20-4 technical fall at 5:25 in his second bout. He continued his momentum with a 4-1 decision win in the quarterfinals to reach the semifinal round. Duvernay's run was halted there with a loss by fall, but he battled back to secure a top-three finish for the Rangers, winning his third-place match by a 5-2 decision over Alexander Denkins.

Troy Dolphin delivered a strong performance on his way to a second-place finish at 141 pounds. Dolphin opened the tournament with back-to-back falls in 2:16 and 1:49, setting an early tone. He kept rolling in the quarterfinals with a 16-0 technical fall at 2:43, then secured his spot in the semifinals with a steady 4-1 decision. Dolphin's run came to an end in the championship match, where he fell 5-0 by decision to number 6thranked Ronan Schuelke of McKendree, earning a runner-up finish for the Rangers.

Jordan Craft put together a strong run at 141 pounds, ultimately finishing in fourth place. Craft opened his day with an 11-1 major decision, then followed it up with a solid 7-1 decision victory in his second bout. He continued his momentum in the quarterfinals, securing a fall at 3:50 to advance to the semifinals. Craft's run ended in the semifinal round with a 7-3 decision loss to Liston Seibert, leaving him with a fourth-place finish for Parkside.

Easton Worachek had a strong showing at 157 pounds, ultimately finishing in second place at the Findlay Open. He started the tournament with a 22-5 technical fall in his opening bout, then followed with two commanding major decision victories, 12-4 and 13-0. Worachek advanced to the finals with a hard-fought 10-8 decision in the semifinals before falling 7-3 to Lane Button of Central Michigan in the championship match, earning a runner-up finish for the Rangers.
 
Number 7 ranked Dajun Johnson put together a strong performance at 174 pounds, finishing in second place at the Findlay Open. He kicked off the day with a 15-0 technical fall in just 1:22, followed by an 11-0 major decision in his second bout. Johnson continued his streak with a 21-5 technical fall at 5:03 in the quarterfinals, then advanced to the finals with an 11-2 major decision in the semifinals. His run ended in the championship match with an 8-1 decision loss to Sevriano Garza of Ashland, earning a runner-up finish for Parkside.

Sullivan Ramos, competing unattached, earned a fifth-place finish in the 174-pound division at the Findlay Open. He opened the tournament with a quick 1:10 fall, followed by an 11-1 major decision loss in his second bout. Ramos bounced back with three consecutive wins—falls at 0:33 and 4:43, and a 13-1 major decision—before adding a 4-2 decision victory to advance to the fifth-place match. He claimed fifth place with a win by no contest over Emilio Arellano of Tiffin.

Brady Schuh earned a third-place finish at 184 pounds with a strong showing at the Findlay Open. He opened the tournament with an 8-0 fall at 4:35, then followed with two hard-fought decision wins, 6-2 and 13-8, to reach the semifinals. Schuch fell in the semifinal round by a 7-2 decision but bounced back in his final bout to secure a top-three finish for the Rangers, earning a fall over Kyler Pickard of Belmont Abbey at 2:50.

Jordan Blanchard captured the 197-pound championship with a dominating performance at the Findlay Open. He started the day with a quick 0:40 fall, then followed with a 2:08 fall in his second bout. Blanchard continued his streak with falls in the quarterfinals at 6:29 and semifinals at 2:40, advancing to the finals and ultimately claiming the title with a 0:44 fall over Caleb Moore of Belmont Abbey, earning the championship for Parkside.

Cooper Caraway secured a third-place finish at 285 pounds with a strong performance at the Findlay Open. He opened the tournament with a 2:59 fall, followed by an 8-1 decision win in his second bout. Caraway advanced through the quarterfinals with a 13-1 major decision before falling in the semifinals by an 11-1 major decision. He bounced back to wrestle for the third-place title, earning a 10-0 major decision over 13th  ranked Gavin Harper of Wheeling University to claim a top-three finish for the Rangers.

Emmett Nelson put together a gritty and resilient performance on his way to a sixth-place finish in the 141-pound division. Nelson opened his day with a tight 2-1 decision victory before dropping a narrow 6-5 decision in TB1 during his second bout. He bounced back strong, picking up a 13-7 decision win and then earning one of his biggest victories of the day—a 5-4 decision in TB1 over No. 7–ranked Luke Kunath of Belmont Abbey College. Nelson continued his run with two more close decision wins, 5-4 and 4-2, closing out a competitive showing.

The Rangers will return to action December 5th, when they open NSIC conference play against SMSU in De Simone Arena.
