MANHEIM, PA -- The National Wrestling Coaches Association released the first regular-season rankings of the 2023-24 wrestling season on Monday. The Parkside wrestling team was ranked seventh as a team and had five individuals ranked in their weight classes.

The Rangers have a 2-0 record in dual matches this season, including a victory over then-ranked No. 5 McKendree. Parkside was previously ranked ninth in the preseason poll. The Rangers will put their unbeaten record on the line on Saturday afternoon when they take on No. 18 Augustana.

Shane Corrigan is 9-0 on the season at 125 lbs and moves up from fourth to third in the rankings. Corrigan has two open championships under his belt this season, winning titles at the Findlay Open and most recently at the Jim Koch Wisconsin Open, where he defeated three Division I opponents.

Cayden Henschel is fifth in the most recent rankings at 141 lbs, up from eighth to begin the season. Henschel is unbeaten at 7-0 this season. He is 1-0 against ranked opponents and was a champion at the Findlay Open.

Reece Worachek is fifth in the rankings this week at 184 lbs He is 9-2 on the season. Most recently he took second place at the Jim Koch Wisconsin Open with his lone loss coming to a Division I opponent.

Jalen Spuhler is sixth in the rankings at 149 lbs. He is 10-2 on the season. Most recently he finished in third place at the Jim Koch Wisconsin Open, with his lone loss coming to a Division I opponent.

Brady Schuh moves into the rankings at eighth for the first time this season at 165 lbs. He is 11-6 on the season with a third-place finish at the Findlay Open and a fifth-place finish at the Jim Koch Wisconsin Open.

The Rangers begin the conference dual schedule this week, taking on No. 18 Augustana University on Saturday. The opening match of the dual is set for noon from Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Links to coverage can be found at ParksideRangers.com/coverage.
