STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The Parkside wrestling team competed in their first Open of the season on Saturday, competing at the Pointer Open, hosted at UW-Stevens Point. Parkside came away with several big performances Saturday, including three championships.
"We had a solid day of wrestling for both our attached and redshirt wrestlers," said head coach Nick Becker. "Win or lose the energy and fight was prevalent in almost all matches. The majority of our starting lineup didn't compete today, but we came home with three champs and five finalists. We are beginning to see a lot of depth in our room and these guys are elevating each other. Still much more room for improvement but I couldn't be prouder of this team and their willingness to support one another. We will get back in the room on Monday and start prepping for McKendree at home this Saturday."
