(Feb. 13, 2016)-- It wasn't easy but the 17th-ranked University of Wisconsin-Parkside men's basketball squad vanquished Great Lakes Valley Conference Co-West Division leader Quincy University 108-107 in overtime on Saturday for the squad's fourth straight 20-win campaign.
Kendale McCullum and
Andy Mazurczak combined for 56 points as the East Division leading Rangers downed a team atop the West Division for the second straight game.

Mazurcak tallied the final five points of the game, including the winning shot with 0.2 seconds left in overtime, hitting a mid-range jumper in a wild contest with 13 lead changes and nine ties.

The host Hawks (16-7, 10-4 GLVC) opened the second half on an 18-5 run, including 10 straight to seize a 61-47 lead with 14:39 left in the ballgame. UW-Parkside (20-3, 13-2 GLVC) closed within six before the lead ballooned back up to 14 for QU with 9:08 remaining. The gap was 10 points with just 3:37 left before the Rangers scored six straight to pull within four. The QU lead was back up to eight with 73 seconds left before the visitors ended regulation on a 10-2 run as the Hawks went without a field goal over the final 2:20 of the second half.
Kendale McCullum tied the game at 95 with 26 seconds left on a pair of free throws as the game went into overtime. Neither team was able to pull away in overtime with Mazurczak netting the final five points for the win.

The game was tied 8-8 four minutes into the game before the host Hawks mounted a 10-0 run, seizing an 18-8 edge with 11:35 left and forcing a Ranger timeout. UW-Parkside countered with a run of its own, scoring the next 13, including six from McCullum, taking a 21-18 lead with 9:07 left before halftime. The rest of the half was a back-and-forth affair with neither team owning an edge greater than four.
Kyle Flanagan hit a jumper with 11 seconds left as QU enjoyed a 43-42 edge at the break in an opening 20 minutes with six lead changes and nine ties.

McCullum finished with a career-high 30 points while also adding seven rebounds, five assists, and five steals. Mazurczak added 26 points with a game-high nine rebounds and four helpers while Flanagan and
Alexander Brown added 19 and 13 points, respectively.

Evan McGaughey led Quincy with 22 points and 13 boards while Von Washington II netted 20 as six of the eight Hawks to see the floor ended in double figures.

The Rangers open their final homestand of the season on Thursday, resuming GLVC East Division play against Saint Joseph's College. Tipoff inside DeSimone Gymnasium is slated for 7:30 p.m.
