High School: The 6-9 power forward inks with the Rangers from Oak Forest High School in suburban Chicago where he averaged 15.6 points per game and 8.6 rebounds per game as a junior last season with the Bengals. Flanagan shot 60 percent from the floor and 80 percent from the charity stripe in 2013-2014, landing IBCA Special Mention All-State, Southtown Star All-Area, All-South Suburban Blue Conference and Romeoville Christmas Classic MVP and All-Tournament team accolades.

A Special Mention All-South Suburban Blue Conference pick as a sophomore, Flanagan averaged 8.8 points per game, 7.3 rebounds per game, 1.1 assists per game and shot 60.7 percent from the field.
