(Sept. 15, 2015)-- Kyle Kolberg finished runner-up as the University of Wisconsin-Parkside men's golf squad opened the lid on the 2015-2016 season with a fourth place showing on Tuesday at the AMFAM Fall Invitational at The Club at Strawberry Creek.
Kolberg shot a 74 to open the invite on Monday before shaving off two strokes on Tuesday, carding a 72 and finishing the event with a score of 146 to tie for second place.
Adam Vanderheyden was 15th with a 151 (74-77) with
Kaden Gorman securing 24th place with a 156 (80-76).
Danny Wojtowicz shot a 165 (84-81) to claim 41st place with
Daniel DePrey shooting a 168 (87-81). UW-Parkside's
Zach Haman placed 10th overall with a 150 (77-73) competing as an individual.
The Rangers shot a 312 on Monday and showed a six stroke improvement on day two, placing fourth overall with a tally of 618 and was three strokes shy of tying third-place McKendree University (309-306). Great Lakes Valley Conference rival University of Illinois Springfield nabbed the top spot after carding a 595 (306-289) while Lewis University was runner-up with a 608 (309-299). UIS's Talon Supak was the top individual finisher, shooting a 142 (72-70).
The Rangers return to action on Sunday, hosting a dual match against Saint Joseph's College at Meadowbrook Country Club in Racine.
