KENOSHA, Wis. – Head Coach Jen Conely has announced the hiring of Reagan Barkema and Caydee Kirkham to the Parkside women's basketball coaching staff. Blair Arthur will also remain with the program as a volunteer assistant.

"I am excited to welcome our new additions to our coaching staff," said Conely. "Both Reagan and Caydee are a fantastic fit for our program; they are up and coming coaches that are going to be great college coaches. Their experience as student-athletes is valuable and they will bring fresh ideas and energy each day. I know they are ready to hit the ground running and help continue to move our program forward!"

Reagan Barkema – Assistant Coach
Barkema arrives in Kenosha following a four-year Division I playing career at Northern Illinois and Bradley.

"With Reagan, I was really impressed with her IQ, energy, and communication, said Conely. "Her love of the game and desire to coach/teach is special. Throughout the interview process, there was already an alignment in values and vision for our program, especially when it came to our student-athletes and their experience."

Reagan spent her final two seasons at Northern Illinois, appearing in 11 games for the Huskies. During the 2025-26 season, Barkema scored six points and grabbed three rebounds in the season opener at Southern Miss before adding five points against Western Illinois. As a junior in 2024-25, she played in eight games, highlighted by a 12-point performance off the bench in a season-opening win over Louisiana and a nine-point, three-assist effort at Iowa.

Prior to Northern Illinois, Barkema played two seasons at Bradley University. As a sophomore, she started 25 of 30 games while averaging 6.2 points and 3.4 rebounds per contest. She scored a career-high 15 points against Illinois State and knocked down 75 three-pointers during her two seasons with the Braves.

A native of Story City, Iowa, Barkema was a four-time Iowa All-State selection at Roland-Story High School, leading the program to three Iowa State Tournament appearances. As a senior, she earned First Team All-State honors after averaging 15.7 points, 7.3 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game.

In addition to her playing experience, Barkema has developed as a coach through the All-Iowa Attack AAU program in Ames, Iowa. As a head coach, she directed girls youth basketball teams, overseeing game management, offensive and defensive strategy, player development and individual skill instruction. She also assisted with the operation of NCAA-certified recruiting events, including event setup, statistics and game administration.

Barkema has also worked with the Des Moines Christian girls' basketball program, coaching youth camps for athletes in grades 3-8.
She earned her bachelor's degree in organizational and corporate communications from Northern Illinois.

Caydee Kirkham – Graduate Assistant Coach
Kirkham arrives in Kenosha after an outstanding playing career at Coe College, where she graduated as one of the most decorated players in program history. A four-time First Team American Rivers Conference selection, she was named the conference's Most Valuable Player twice (2024 and 2026) and earned First Team All-Region honors in 2024 and 2026.

"With Caydee, I was really impressed with her work ethic, attention to detail, and ideas on player development," said Conely. "She's a go getter- I really appreciate how invested she is in our program and helping with our assistant coach search. I love her energy and know that she's ready to get after it in preseason workouts."   

Following her senior season, Kirkham received national recognition as a D3hoops.com Third Team All-American and a WBCA Honorable Mention All-American. She was also named Coe College Female Athlete of the Year in 2024.
Kirkham finished her career as Coe's all-time leader in both points (1,716) and assists (490). Throughout her career, she earned 11 conference Player of the Week awards and was selected twice to the D3hoops.com National Team of the Week.

In addition to her accomplishments on the court, Kirkham gained valuable coaching and administrative experience while serving as a work-study student with the Coe College women's basketball program and athletic department. Her responsibilities included assisting with recruiting visits, leading individual and group skill-development sessions, editing film through Synergy, creating practice and travel materials, helping coordinate practices, developing scouting reports using FastDraw, and assisting with game and event operations.

Kirkham earned bachelor's degrees in business administration and kinesiology from Coe College in 2026 and was a member of the Dean's list.
