Parkside Women Deliver Record Setting Performance at GLIAC Championships

ALLENDALE, Mich. — The Parkside women's track and field team delivered a historic performance at the GLIAC Outdoor Championships, finishing fourth with a program-record 102 points. The fourth-place finish also marks the highest in program history at the conference meet.
 
The Rangers were led by standout performances on the track, highlighted by Abbi Steiner, who was named GLIAC Female Track Athlete of the Meet. Steiner dominated the distance events, capturing conference titles in both the 5,000 meters (17:11.05) and 10,000 meters (35:25.79), scoring 20 points for Parkside.
 
Johanna Ebert added another event title for the Rangers, winning the 3,000-meter steeplechase in 10:25.57 while also placing fifth in the 1,500 meters (4:38.86) to contribute 14 total points.
 
Freshman Anna Snorek turned in an impressive championship debut, earning GLIAC Female Freshman Track Athlete of the Meet honors. Snorek placed third in the 400 meters (56.78), seventh in the 200 meters (25.04).
 
On the track, Mayda Conrad scored in the 100 meters with an eighth-place finish (12.35), while Madison Perez added points in the 800 meters, placing seventh (2:19.28).
 
Parkside's relay teams also made a significant impact. The 4x100 relay team finished second with a time of 47.38, while the 4x400 relay placed fifth in 3:58.16.
 
In the field events, Rachel Blaskowski led the way with a runner-up finish in the long jump (5.71m). Essence Burrows added nine points across horizontal jumps, placing fifth in the long jump (5.57m) and fourth in the triple jump (10.99m).
 
Miranda Winkler earned a runner-up finish in the triple jump (11.60m), while Nailah Taylor contributed with a third-place finish in the high jump (1.64m).
 
Additional field event scoring came from the pole vault group, where Kalista Butkiewicz placed sixth (3.19m) and Harley Wock finished seventh (3.19m).
 
Shelby Hanshaw added more points in the javelin with a fourth-place throw of 35.47m.
 
In the multi-events, Lainey Fredrick rounded out the scoring with an eighth-place finish in the heptathlon.
