Vlies Sets New Record As Rangers Battle Weather at the Rex Foster Twilight

WHITEWATER, Wis. – The Parkside Rangers women's track and field competed through cold, rainy conditions and a weather delay Friday at the Rex Foster Twilight, hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, turning in a strong all-around performance.

On the track, Essence Burrows led the Rangers in the sprints, finishing third in the 100 meters with a personal-best time of 12.78 after qualifying through prelims. Mayda Conrad also reached the finals, placing fifth (12.99).

In the hurdles, Miranda Winkler continued her strong season with a runner-up finish in the 100-meter hurdles (15.51) after posting a qualifying time of 15.37 in prelims.

Anna Snorek highlighted the day with a first-place finish in the 400-meter hurdles, crossing in 1:05.89. Jasmine Sieben added a third-place, personal-best finish (1:07.73), while Addison Stallings placed fourth in a personal-best 1:07.76.

In the 400 meters, Kylie Kwiatkowski led the group with a fourth-place, personal-best finish (1:02.78), followed by Jacy Boberg in seventh (1:03.39).

The middle-distance group saw Madison Perez claim the event title in the 800 meters with a season-best 2:22.30. Addison Lacy placed third (2:29.57), and Audrey Amaya finished fourth (2:31.97).

In the distance events, Alyson Moore captured first place in the 1500 meters with a season-best time of 4:46.05, while Abbi Steiner added a fourth-place finish (4:50.35).

In the field events, Hannah Vlies led the way with a third-place finish in the hammer throw, breaking her own school record with a personal-best mark of 44.33 meters. Shelby Hanshaw (12th) and Brooke Mader (13th) also competed in the event.

Essence Burrows added a victory in the long jump with a mark of 5.29 meters. Dani Riemer placed second (5.07m), and Jazai Lopez finished third (4.99m).

In the vertical jumps, Harley Wock placed second in the pole vault (3.32m), while Kalista Butkiewicz finished third (3.17m). In the high jump, Lainey Fredrick and Delaney McMahon each cleared 1.52 meters to tie for fifth.

The Rangers closed out the meet with a win in the 4x100-meter relay, as the "A" team of Conrad, Snorek, Riemer, and Lauren Wiitanen took first place in 49.42.
