Parkside Builds Momentum Ahead of GLIAC Championships

WHITEWATER, Wis. — The Parkside women's track and field team turned in a well-rounded performance Saturday at the UW-Whitewater Drake Alternative, highlighted by event wins, strong finishes, and depth across the lineup as the Rangers gear up for the postseason.

On the track, Addison Stallings led the way in the sprints, placing third in the 100 meters with a time of 12.62 after qualifying through the prelims. Lauren Wiitanen and Jasmine Sieben also advanced out of prelims, finishing with times of 12.77 and 12.82, respectively. Wiitanen added a 12th-place finish in the 200 meters (26.56), while Jacy Boberg (27.79) and Delilah Rodriguez (28.61) rounded out Parkside's efforts in the event.

In the 400 meters, Chloe Miller posted a strong fourth-place finish in 1:02.84, with Boberg (1:05.82) and Rodriguez (1:06.55) also competing. The middle-distance group was led by Alyson Moore, who finished fourth in the 800 meters with a time of 2:20.82. She was followed by Tempi Zondag (2:23.76), Audrey Amaya (2:26.00), Mattea Wuest (2:27.68), Kylie Kwiatkowski (2:32.83), and Hannah Downs (2:40.35). In the 1500 meters, Addison Lacy turned in a fourth-place finish at 4:53.22, while Abby Robson added a seventh-place showing in the 5000 meters (19:13.11).

The hurdles group delivered one of the top performances of the day. Dani Riemer and Miranda Winkler finished second and third in the 100-meter hurdles with times of 15.13 and 15.15, respectively, while Lainey Fredrick placed seventh at 15.79. In the 400-meter hurdles, Jasmine Sieben captured an event title, crossing the line first in 1:05.47.

In the field events, Miranda Winkler continued her standout day with a first-place finish in the triple jump, recording a mark of 11.47m. Delaney McMahon cleared 1.55m in the high jump to finish sixth, while Kalista Butkiewicz (3.23m) and Harley Wock (3.08m) competed in the pole vault.

In the horizontal jumps, Jazai Lopez led the way with a seventh-place finish in the long jump (4.85m). The throws group saw Hannah Vlies pace the Rangers, finishing seventh in the hammer throw with a mark of 44.66m, while also competing in the shot put (10.78m). Shelby Hanshaw (39.55m) and Brooke Mader (39.17m) added solid marks in the hammer, with Destiny Duesterbeck posting 36.50m. In the shot put, Duesterbeck (10.67m) and Hanshaw (10.62m) followed closely behind Vlies.

Parkside also saw contributions in the javelin, where Addison Stallings placed seventh with a throw of 30.08m, while Avah Banks finished ninth at 28.21m and Lainey Fredrick recorded 19.66m.

With momentum building late in the outdoor season, the Rangers will return to action at the GLIAC Championships, set for April 29 through May 1.
