Parkside Men Finish Second At SLU Speed & Power Festival

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Parkside Rangers men's track and field turned in a strong showing Friday, competing at the SLU Speed and Power Festival as part of a busy opening weekend to the outdoor season.

On the track, Ian Liburd highlighted the day with a first-place finish in the 100 meters, crossing in 10.75. Jalon Rose added a top-10 finish, placing 10th (11.09).

In the hurdles, Michael Hendrix placed second in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 14.80.

Jaylan Nelson recorded a seventh-place finish in the 200 meters (22.44), while Ethan Cowart added a 13th-place effort (22.88).

In the 400 meters, Mikhail Bolden (10th, 52.25), Dalton Metzdorf (12th, 52.86), and Levi Krautkramer (15th, 53.23) all recorded top-15 finishes.

The Rangers dominated the 400-meter hurdles, with Thomas Stiltner winning the event in 56.75 and Mate Pesti finishing second in 58.41.

In the field events, Aaron Mueller led the way with a third-place finish in the long jump (6.38m), followed by Nicholas Katsma in sixth (6.25m), Carson Hull in 10th (6.07m), and Gabe Runkel in 11th (5.87m).

In the hammer throw, Kaelan McDonough placed ninth with a personal-best mark of 45.66 meters, while Cooper Vail added a 15th-place finish (38.51m).

Ryan Peel recorded a sixth-place finish in the pole vault (3.95m).

The Rangers also saw success in the relays, as the 4x100-meter "A" team of Jalon Rose, Nelson, Jadon Rose, and Liburd captured first place in 41.97. The "B" relay team placed third (42.55), while the "C" team finished sixth (46.59).

Parkside will return to action Saturday at the SLU Billiken Invite.
