Four Rangers Qualify For NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships

KENOSHA, Wis. – Four student-athletes from the University of Wisconsin-Parkside men's and women's track and field programs have qualified for the 2026 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships, set for May 21-23 at Emporia State University in Emporia, Kansas.

Representing the Rangers at the national meet will be Johanna Ebert, Michael Hendrix, Doug Martin, and Cayton Cratch. This will be the second straight outdoor championships that the Rangers have sent four student-athletes. 

Ebert enters the national championships seeded fifth in the 3000-meter steeplechase after running a school record time of 10:22.50 at the Bryan Clay Invitational on April 16. The appearance marks Ebert's second trip to the NCAA Championships.

Hendrix qualified in the 400-meter hurdles with a school record time of 51.25, also set at the Bryan Clay Invitational. Seeded 10th nationally, Hendrix will make his first appearance at the NCAA Championships.

Martin earned his second trip to the NCAA Outdoor Championships and third NCAA Championship appearance overall after posting a school record time of 1:48.63 in the 800 meters at the Bryan Clay Invitational. He enters the meet seeded 20th nationally.

Cratch will make his first NCAA Championship appearance after clocking a time of 1:48.74 in the 800 meters at the Bryan Clay Invitational. At the time, the mark established a new school record. Cratch enters the national meet seeded 22nd.

"These four student-athletes are all tough as nails and extremely competitive," Director of Track & Field and Cross Country Nick Maas said. "Each one has a great opportunity in front of them as we bring another big group to the championships. Johanna and Doug have been at championships, and both want to leave their mark on this one. For Cayton and Michael, this may be their first championships, but they have a great desire to come away with some hardware. It should be a great championships for the Rangers."

Ebert will compete in the 3000-meter steeplechase prelims at 7:10 p.m. on Thursday, May 21, with the finals scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Friday, May 22.

Hendrix is slated to run in the 400-meter hurdles prelims at 7:40 p.m. on Thursday, May 21. The finals are scheduled for 5:40 p.m. on Saturday, May 23.

Martin and Cratch will compete in the 800-meter prelims at 6 p.m. on Friday, May 22, with the finals taking place at 5:15 p.m. on Saturday, May 23.
