VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – The Parkside Rangers men's track and field opened competition Friday at the NCAA Division II Indoor Track and Field Championships, highlighted by a strong performance from Doug Martin in the 800 meters.
Martin posted the seventh-fastest time of the day in the event, clocking 1:49.55 in the preliminary round. Competing in the third heat, Martin finished fourth and narrowly missed advancing to the finals by just one-tenth of a second.
The Rangers will return to action on Saturday as Simon Dominic and EJ Johnson compete in the high jump at 3:30 p.m. (CT).
