Rangers Compete at the Karl Schlender Invitational

KENOSHA, Wis. — The University of Wisconsin–Parkside women's track and field team delivered a strong all-around performance Saturday at the Karl Schlender Invitational, posting multiple event victories and top-ten finishes across the track and field events.

On the track, Rachel Blaskowski led the Rangers in the sprints with a third-place finish in the 60 meters, clocking a 7.98 in the finals after running 7.97 in the preliminaries. In the 200 meters, Anna Snorek captured an event victory, crossing the line first in 26.20, while Lainey Fredrick added a 10th-place finish with a time of 28.01.

Parkside found success in the middle distances, led by Jasmine Sieben's runner-up performance in the 800 meters. Sieben finished second overall in 2:24.41, with Mattea Wuest placing fifth (2:31.55) and Kylie Kwiatkowski sixth (2:31.60). In the mile, Abbi Steiner paced the Rangers with a second-place finish in 5:05.22. Madison Perez finished fifth at 5:14.21, Josie Kooima placed eighth (5:17.35), and Alyson Moore earned a ninth-place finish with a time of 5:22.68.

Johanna Ebert added another victory for Parkside in the distance events, winning the 3000 meters with a time of 9:59.46.

In the hurdles, Miranda Winkler posted a third-place finish in the 60 hurdles, crossing the line in 9:44 after running 9:41 in the preliminaries.

Parkside also turned in a strong showing in the relays, as the 4x400 team of Jasmine Sieben, Nailah Taylor, Lainey Fredrick, and Anna Snorek finished second with a time of 4:12.27.

The Rangers collected multiple top finishes in the field events as well. Nailah Taylor captured the high jump title after clearing 1.66 meters (5' 5.25"), while Lainey Fredrick placed eighth with a mark of 1.46 meters (4' 9.5"). Kalista Butkiewicz earned a victory in the pole vault, winning the event with a clearance of 3.35 meters (10' 11.75").

In the horizontal jumps, Miranda Winkler recorded a runner-up finish in the triple jump with a mark of 10.77 meters (35' 4"), while Avah Banks placed sixth after jumping 10.32 meters (33' 10.25").

In the throws, Brooke Mader delivered a standout performance in the weight throw, finishing second with a mark of 15.11 meters (49' 7"). Hannah Vlies added two top-ten finishes, placing eighth in the shot put with a throw of 11.30 meters (37' 1") and eighth in the weight throw at 14.19 meters (46' 6.75").

The Rangers will continue their indoor season next Saturday with their first home meet of the season, the Lake Michigan Open. It will also be alumni day for the Rangers. Links to coverage can be found at ParksideRangers.com.
