Parkside Celebrates Seniors At 18th Annual Lucian Rosa Invitational

KENOSHA, Wis. – The Parkside cross country team welcomed a national-caliber field on Saturday morning as the Rangers hosted the 18th Annual Lucian Rosa Invitational on the Wayne E. Dannehl National Cross Country Course. The meet featured more than 20 teams from across the country, providing an early look at the site of the 2025 NCAA Division II Midwest Regional and National Championships.

Parkside placed 14th as a team in the women's 6k championship race with 380 points. Colorado School of Mines (51) took home the team title, followed by Adams State (77) and UC-Colorado Springs (83).

The Rangers were led by Abbi Steiner, who turned in one of the best performances of her career on her home course. Steiner finished 12th overall with a time of 21:38.9, leading a Parkside pack that included Johanna Ebert (21:56.8, 21st) and senior Alyson Moore (23:43.3, 116th). Other scorers for the Rangers included Josie Kooima (23:55.1, 125th) and Riley Doyle (24:12.1, 151st).

The Rangers finished 19th as a team with 557 points in the men's 8k championship race. Colorado School of Mines captured the team title with 52 points, followed by Adams State (59) and Lee (Tenn.) (91).

Parkside was paced by junior Connor Sheahan, who crossed the line in 26:36.9 to place 101st overall. He was followed closely by senior Jose Monroy (26:47.2, 112th), Doug Martin (27:13.1, 142nd), Beckett Pawlak (27:16.3, 143rd), and Cayton Cratch (27:31.6, 159th) to complete the scoring lineup.

Following the race, Parkside honored its seniors, Jack Allen, Audrey Amaya, Isaac Fullmer, Jose Monroy, Alyson Moore, Madison Perez and Abbi Steiner for their contributions to the program.

The Rangers return to action on Saturday, October 4, when they travel to Louisville, Ky., for the Live in the Lou Classic.
