LOUISVILLE, KY. – The Parkside cross country team traveled south and were welcomed on
Saturday morning to compete in the 2025 Live in the Lou Classic held at E.P. Tom Sawyer Park.
The meet featured more than 30 teams from Division l and Division II programs across the country.
Parkside placed 19th as a team in the women's 5k championship race with 524 points. West
Virginia (34) took home the team title, followed by Clemson (42), and West Texas A&M (102).
The Rangers were once again led by sophomore
Abbi Steiner, whose shown her determination
meet after meet. Steiner finished 25th overall with a time of 17:27.9, and following close behind
was
Johanna Ebert, who finished 32nd overall with a time of 17:37.2. Other scorers for the
Rangers included
Josie Kooima (19:00.4, 140th),
Alyson Moore (19:19.2, 163rd), and
Riley Doyle
(19:41.1, 183rd).
The Rangers finished 27th as a team with 684 points in the men's 8K championship race. Middle
Tennessee State captured the team title with 60 points, followed by Eastern Kentucky (62) and
West Texas A&M (149).
Parkside was once again led by junior
Connor Sheahan, who finished with a time of 25:27.0 to
place 108th overall. Sheahan was followed closely by a pack of Rangers in
Cayton Cratch
(25:29.0, 112th),
Doug Martin (25:34.7, 130th),
Beckett Pawlak (25:39.6, 144th), and
Jose Monroy
(26:09.4, 190th) to complete the scoring lineup.
The Rangers return to action on Friday, October 17, when they travel to Newman Golf Course in
Peoria, IL., for the Bradley Pink Classic.
