GRAND RAPIDS, MICH. – The Parkside men's cross country team wrapped up the 2025 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Championships on Saturday at Calvin University Cross Country Course. Featuring several nationally ranked opponents, the meet offered a good look at the upcoming 2025 NCAA Division II Midwest Regional and National Championships.
Parkside placed 5th as a team in the men's 8k championship race with 167 points. Grand Valley St. (17) took home the team title, followed by Saginaw Valley (50) and Michigan Tech (91).
Cayton Cratch led the way for Parkside, finishing as the team's top runner with a strong effort of 25:29.5, placing 24th. Right behind him was junior Connor Sheahan, who also delivered a strong performance, finishing with a time of 25:39.4, good enough for 28th place. Rounding out the Rangers' scoring were Beckett Pawlak (25:46.7, 30th), Jose Monroy (26:15.8, 41st), and Jack Hamilton (26:29.7, 44th).
The Rangers now look ahead to the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional Championships, which will be hosted by Parkside at the Wayne E. Dannehl National Cross Country Course on November 8th at 10:00 am CT. The meet will serve as an opportunity for Parkside to build on its GLIAC championship performance and compete for a spot at the NCAA Division II National Championships – this time on their home course.
