KENOSHA, Wis. — After a statement win to open conference play, Parkside men's soccer has swept the GLIAC weekly awards. Junior midfielder/defender
Nico De Andres was named GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week for the first time in his career, and goalkeeper
Daniyal Rana earned GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week for the second time in his career.
Parkside (1-2-1, 1-0-0 GLIAC) is the league's lone 1-0-0 side after the opening weekend of conference play.
De Andres, a junior midfielder/defender, delivered the go-ahead strike at the stroke of halftime in Friday's 3–1 win at Northern Michigan, finishing with just a second left to play in the first half off a
Hudson Scheiber assist. He totaled three shots (one on goal) across 90 minutes as the Rangers scored three unanswered to secure their first victory of 2025. The award marks his first GLIAC weekly honor.
Rana backstopped the result with seven saves, turning away 7 of 8 shots to post a .875 save percentage on the day, his third straight match with six or more stops. For the season, the redshirt senior owns 29 saves through four starts (7.25 per match) and a .744 save percentage. He leads the GLIAC in saves per game and ranks among the conference leaders in total saves. The honor is the second GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week of his career.
The Rangers return to GLIAC action this week on the road: Friday at Roosevelt and Sunday at Purdue Northwest. To keep up with Ranger Athletics, be sure to visit
