LEXINGTON, Ky. – The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) announced its 2025 Team Academic Award recipients on Monday, and Parkside Volleyball was honored for the sixth consecutive year for its exceptional academic performance.
The Rangers were not only named a recipient of the AVCA Team Academic Award, which recognizes programs that maintain a year-long team GPA of 3.30 or higher, but also earned Honor Roll distinction—an accolade awarded to the top 20% of team GPAs in NCAA Division II Women's Volleyball.
In addition to the national recognition, nine Parkside student-athletes earned GLIAC Academic Excellence honors, awarded to student-athletes with a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher. Three more were named to the GLIAC All-Academic Team, which honors those with a GPA between 3.00 and 3.49.
"Our student-athletes always impress me with their work ethic and dedication in everything they do," said head coach
Leigh Barea. "This shows in their consistency in achieving this academic success.
The team has prioritized academic excellence as a part of our culture and what it means to be a member of the Parkside volleyball team. We are so proud of our young women, and I know they are prepared to make huge impacts in their future careers because of their hard work in the classroom."
