PUEBLO, Colo. – The Rangers rounded out the 2025 NCAA Outdoor Championships on Saturday afternoon.
Simon Dominic and
EJ Johnson took flight in the high jump, with Johnson securing a 6
th place All-American finish.
"A great showing by both Simon and EJ!" said Director of XC/Track and Field
Nick Maas. "Considering this was their first time at this stage, they definitely rose to the occasion...pun intended. The underlying story is that EJ had his bag stolen our first night with his ID, Uniform and competition spikes. It took a village and he never lost faith. We were able to get some items overnighted in and he put together a great day of jumping to earn his first All American. What we have always emphasized is to Improvise, Adapt and Overcome situations in front of us. I can't think of a better exemplification of that. A great year for the Rangers and trust me, this is just the beginning for our squad!"
The Rangers battled the early afternoon Colorado heat.
Simon Dominic finished tied for 16
th in the competition. Dominic soared 2.02m above the bar in his National Championship debut. Johnson put in a career day in his first National Championship appearance. The redshirt freshman jumped 2.12m over the bar, marking a collegiate personal best. It was enough to secure a 6
th place finish and All-American honors. Johnson is the first Parkside Men's Track and Field Outdoor All-American in over 15 years.
