4/7/2025 10:09:00 PM

NOBLESVILLE, Indiana --- The Parkside Men's Golf Team woke up looking to rebound in a strong way on Monday in the second round of the Ken Partridge Invitational hosted by the University of Indianapolis. Purgatory Golf Club, the host for this tournament, has been recognized numerous times since 2014 as "Indiana's Course of the Year" and has hosted the NCAA Regional Championship for both genders. The top-ranked public course has also been the qualifying host for multiple USGA qualifiers over the past decade. With incredibly high wind gusts and treacherously low temperatures, the Rangers did all they could to try and climb up the leaderboard.

Through two rounds of the Ken Partridge Invitational, Parkside remains in 20th place after improving by three shots on Monday to post a team score of +16 (304). The Rangers were one of five teams on Monday to improve their team score from Sunday'sfirst round. Purgatory Golf Club showed its teeth in the second round, increasing the scoring average from 74.4 to 76.2 on Day #2.

Andrew Conrad jumped 15 spots up the leaderboard on Monday after shooting a round of 74 (+2). Conrad continued to rely on his short game in the second round and made 14 pars to keep moving up the leaderboard. The junior hit an excellent second shot from 175 yards on the par-5 5th hole to set up a two-putt birdie to a challenging pin location. Andrew sits in a tie for 44th place and will look to move even further up the leaderboard with a solid round tomorrow.

Hayden Underhill had the next-best round for Parkside on Monday after shooting a round of 76 (+4). Underhill made three birdies on the day, including another near ace on the par-3 12th hole after hitting a 5-iron to within a few feet. Hayden is tied for 81st place and will be paired with fellow teammate Andrew Conrad in the final round tomorrow afternoon.

Aleck Simms improved his score by one shot on Monday with a score of 77 (+5). Aleck's highlight of the day came on the par-4 11th hole after hitting an approach shot to within a few feet of a difficult back left pin location. Simms was only 1 of 6 players to birdie the 11th hole today. The junior sits in a tie for 88th place after Day #2.

Peter Blazevic answered on Monday with a round of 77 (+5) to move up a few spots on the leaderboard. Peter's best shot of the day came on the challenging par-3 17th hole after hitting a 9-iron downwind to within 10 feet. Blazevic finished in a tie for 96th place after the second round.

Matthew Marsollek finished the day with a score of 82 (+10) and currently sits in a tie for 97th place. Matthew's highlight of the day came on the par-5 5th hole after having what Coach Werwie-Swartz called "the best up and down of the spring season" from an impossible place long of the green.

TJ Floberg, an individual this week, continued his steady play with a round of 76 (+4) on Monday. Floberg, like fellow teammate Aleck Simms, birdied the par-4 11th hole to keep him under the scoring average for the day. Floberg sits in 58th place at +7 overall.

The Parkside Men's Golf team will finish the Ken Partridge Invitational tomorrow with tee times starting at 12 PM. The link to live scoring will be available at ParksideRangers.com/coverage.
