WATERLOO, Iowa — The Parkside Women's Golf Team wrapped up a successful weekend on Sunday at the Upper Iowa Spring Invite, hosted at the renowned Sunnyside Country Club. Located just northwest of Cedar Rapids, the course has a strong tournament pedigree, including the 100th Iowa Women's Amateur and multiple USGA qualifiers. The Rangers took full advantage of the conditions, improving their team score in the final round to secure a second-place finish.
Parkside posted a 341 (+53) in Round 2, improving by nine shots from Saturday's round to edge ahead of host Upper Iowa on the leaderboard.
AJ Powell finished tied for sixth place at +20 after carding an 85 (+13) in the final round. Her short game was a key strength down the stretch, as she birdied both the par-5 6th and par-5 11th holes.
