WATERLOO, Iowa — The Parkside Women's Golf Team opened play at the Upper Iowa Spring Invite on Saturday, competing in the first round at Sunnyside Country Club. Sunnyside Country Club, located just northwest of Cedar Rapids, is a well-regarded venue known for hosting top-tier events, including the 100th Iowa Women's Amateur and multiple USGA qualifiers.

At the conclusion of the opening round, the Rangers are tied for second place with a team score of 350 (+62). Leading the way for Parkside was AJ Powell, who fired a 79 (+7) to finish the day in a tie for first place individually.

Powell overcame a slow start and rallied late in the round, highlighted by a birdie on the par-5 6th hole to secure her share of the lead.

Sarah Arsich also turned in a strong performance, carding an 82 (+10) to sit in fourth place. Like Powell, Arsich also birdied the 6th, capitalizing on the par-5 opportunity.

Dulce Gefke wrapped up round one with a score of 91 (+19), placing her in a tie for 14th.

Stella Ruffalo posted a 98 (+26) and is currently tied for 26th, while Kayla Warner finished with a 107 (+35) to sit in 31st place heading into Sunday's final round.

The Rangers will return to Sunnyside Country Club on Sunday morning for the final round of the UIU Spring Invite. Live scoring will be available at ParksideRangers.com/coverage.
