Rangers Finish Seventh At GLIAC Championship

4/19/2025 9:24:00 PM

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — The Parkside Men's Golf Team wrapped up its 2024-25 season on Saturday with the final round of the GLIAC Conference Championship at Bedford Valley Golf Club, finishing 7th overall after a second-round score of +8 (296). Despite entering the day just a few shots out of a top-four spot, the Rangers narrowly missed out on advancing to Medal Match Play, bringing their season to a close.
After sitting T-5 following Round 1, Parkside needed a strong finish to climb the leaderboard. However, in a tightly packed field, the team's combined score of +9 (585) through two rounds fell just short.
Andrew Conrad capped off an impressive senior season by finishing 9th overall at even par, following rounds of 69 (-3) and 75 (+3). Conrad birdied holes 16 and 17 to remain inside the top 10 and ended his final collegiate tournament with a strong back nine. His 6-under-par performance on the par-5s this week was among the best in the field.
Aleck Simms delivered one of his best performances of the spring, shooting 73 (+1) in Round 2 to finish T-10 at +1. Simms birdied twice on the back nine to lock in his highest finish of the season and showed strong consistency throughout the championship.
TJ Floberg, another graduating senior, improved by two shots in Round 2 to post a 73 (+1) after an opening 75. His T-22finish came with a highlight approach shot on the par-4 11th, where he stuck a 6-iron from 175 yards to a few feet for a near tap-in birdie. Floberg finishes his Ranger career with back-to-back solid performances.
Hayden Underhill matched his opening-round 75 (+3) to finish T-34. His 2-under-par back nine helped keep Parkside in the mix during Saturday's pressure-filled round.
Peter Blazevic also closed out the championship T-34 at +6, with rounds of 73 (+1) and 77 (+5). Blazevic caught fire midway through Round 2, carding 4 birdies in a 5-hole stretch, which briefly gave him a shot at climbing into the top 25.
With the 2024-25 tournament schedule now complete, the Parkside Men's Golf Team will now wait to see if senior Andrew Conrad will earn an at-large bid into the NCAA Division II Tournament.
