DEARBORN, Mich. — The Parkside Men's Golf Team wrapped up their regular season on Monday at the Motor City Meltdown, a 36-hole event hosted by Wayne State University at the prestigious TPC Michigan. Designed by Jack Nicklaus and located just outside Detroit, TPC Michigan challenged the field with fast greens and strong afternoon winds, turning the two-round event into a true test of grit and control.
The Rangers put together rounds of 287 (-1) and 315 (+27) to finish in 3rd place overall. Parkside held second place after the morning round before difficult conditions shifted the leaderboard in the afternoon.
Andrew Conrad continued to lead the way for Parkside, finishing in 2nd place after rounds of 69 (-3) and 76 (+4). Conrad got hot on the greens late in Round 1, carding five birdies in an eight-hole stretch. His morning round of 69 matched his career-low as a Ranger. A standout moment came on the par-5 7th, where he crushed a 4-iron from 245 yards downwind to 25 feet, setting up a smooth two-putt birdie.
Peter Blazevic fired a career-best 68 (-4) in the morning, staying bogey-free until the final hole. He cooled off in the afternoon with an 84 (+12) but still managed a 15th place finish at +8. Blazevic's highlight came on the par-3 4th, where he drained a birdie putt from 60 feet.
Aleck Simms posted rounds of 74 and 79 to tie for 19th place at +9 overall. Known for his ball striking, Simms hit a clutch 2-iron from 230 yards on the par-5 13th in Round 1, landing it just 15 feet away and walking away with an easy birdie.
TJ Floberg had a steady performance with scores of 79 (+7) and 76 (+4), finishing T-23 at +11. A key moment came in Round 2 when he saved par from the back penalty area on the par-4 10th, giving him the momentum to settle into the round.
Hayden Underhill opened with a 76 (+4) before shooting an 87 (+15) in the afternoon, ending in a tie for 34th at +19. His top shot came early in the day with a pitching wedge to 3 feet on the par-4 2nd, setting up an easy birdie.
