WHEATON, Illinois --- The Parkside Men's Golf Team was back in action on Monday in Wheaton, Illinois at Cantigny Golf Club. The Flyers Spring Invitational has been hosted at Cantigny for a few years, but this is Parkside's first year competing in this tournament. Cantigny Golf Club is ranked in the Top 30 courses in the state of Illinois by Golf Digest, and it has hosted high-level competitions for years. The Spring Flyers Invitational consists of 12 teams, five of them being members of the GLIAC Conference (Davenport, Lake Superior State, Roosevelt, Purdue Northwest, and Parkside). Despite insanely cold conditions, the Men's Team persevered.

After Round #1 of the Flyers Spring Invitational at Cantigny Golf Club, the Rangers sit in 7th place with a team score of 312 (+24).
Andrew Conrad led Parkside on Monday with a round of one under par (71).

Andrew Conrad finished the day on Monday with a solid round of 71 (-1). His round positioned him one shot back of the lead in 2
nd place alone. Conrad made an excellent birdie on the par-4 5
th hole today after hitting a pitching wedge to 25 feet and making the putt.

Peter Blazevic ended his round at +7 with a round of 79. Blazevic currently sits in a tie for 30th place. Peter's best shot of the day came on the par-5 14
th hole when he made a birdie after going for the green in two and getting up and down from there.

Aleck Simms closed his first round with a score of 81 (+9) to sit in a tie for 38th place. Simms finished his final 7 holes even par to rebound from a challenging start. Aleck's best shot of the day came on the par-5 7
th hole after hitting a 3-wood to within 30 feet in two for an easy birdie.

Hayden Underhill ended the day with a round of 82 (+10). Underhill currently sits in a tie for 53rd place with three other players. Hayden's best shot of the day came on the par-3 13
th hole after hitting a 6-iron to within 5 feet from the hole.

Landen Savage finished his first round with a score of 84 (+12). Savage sits in a tie for 63rd place after round one. The freshman's best shot of the day came on the par-3 17
th hole after hitting an 8-iron to within 15 feet and making the putt for birdie.Â
