UNIVERSITY CITY, Mich. -- The Parkside women's track and field team closed out the 2025 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletics Conference (GLIAC) Championships with a bang on Sunday, finishing fifth as a team with 68.5 points. The point total of 68.5 is the highest for the Rangers since Nick Maas took over the program in 2019.

"Some very solid individual performances. Grace Mildice ran four 400s in two days and got faster each time and walked away with a school record. Essence is a beast and a high level competitor. To win those three awards as a freshman is special and she is just scratching the surface of her potential. Also, Doug Martin winning freshman track athlete is an amazing feat and he'll wait to see if he has another two weeks of indoor. Jon Nowacki ran a very gutsy two races and ended his indoor career breaking his own record in the 3k. Also, it was a massive weekend for Michael Hendrix, racing five times in two days and scoring points along the way. Sean Waldvogel had one of the best races of his life and was able to snag back his school record and likely earned himself a spot at NCAAs as well as contributed to our DMR and school record 4x400. A great way to end his senior indoor season."

DAY TWO
Essence Burrows came home with hardware galore on Sunday. The first year Ranger was named the GLIAC Field Athlete of the Meet, GLIAC High Point Athlete of the Meet and the GLIAC Freshman Field Athlete of the Meet. She finished her first GLIAC Championships with a championship in the triple jump and a second-place finish in the long jump.

Parkside had three different athletes score points in the triple jump. Essence Burrows won the event for Parkside with a personal best mark of 11.85m (38'10.5"). The mark also met NCAA Provo Qualifying standards. Mckenna Armstrong finished fifth with a mark of 10.71m (35'1.75") and Miranda Winkler finished sixth with a mark of 10.48m (34'4.75").

After breaking a school record in the preliminaries yesterday, Grace Mildice finished eighth in the 400 finals in a time of 58.64.

Johanna Ebert finished sixth in the 800 meters in a personal best time of 2:15.12.

Abbi Steiner finished fifth in the 3000 meters in an NCAA Provo Qualifying time of 9:46.92.

The Parkside 4x400 relay team of Grace Mildice, Mayda Conrad, Jasmine Sieben and Johanna Ebert finished sixth in a time of 3:59.40.
Parkside had two athletes earn points in the high jump Nailah Taylor finished fourth with a mark of 1.65m (5'5"). Mckenna Armstrong finished sixth with a mark of 1.60m (5'3").

Kalista Butkiewicz finished fifth in the pole vault with a mark of 3.39m (11'1.5").

DAY ONE
Rachel Blaskowski brought home another GLIAC Championship on Saturday, winning the long jump with a mark of 5.69m (18'8"). Right behind her was Essence Burrows in second place with a mark of 5.62m (18'5.25")

The Parkside Distance Medley Relay team of Abbi Steiner, Grace Mildice, Audrey Amaya and Johanna Ebert finished fourth with an NCAA Provo Qualifying time of 11:55.73.

Brooke Mader earned points for the Rangers in the weight throw with a fifth place finish. Mader's mark of 15.36m (50'4.75") was good enough to earn Parkside four points.

First year Ranger Lainey Fredrick earned two points for Parkside with a seventh place finish in the Pentathlon with 2775 points.

Grace Mildice qualified for the finals in the 400 meters with a school record setting time of 58.02.
