UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. -- The Parkside women's track and field team delivered a historic performance at the GLIAC Indoor Championships, finishing fourth overall with 75 points. Both the fourth-place finish and the 75-point total represent program bests at the indoor conference meet.
"Team was phenomenal this weekend. We broke the school record for points and tied our best finish ever as a team," said Parkside Director of Track and Field and Cross Country Nick Maas. "I couldn't be more proud of the group and the energy and resilience they showed throughout the meet."
Parkside was led by a standout weekend from
Abbi Steiner, who earned GLIAC Track Athlete of the Meet honors and was named the High Point Athlete of the Meet. Steiner scored in two distance events, placing second in the 5,000 meters with a time of 16:58.07 and adding another runner-up finish in the 3,000 meters (9:51.73).

Anna Snorek continued her record-breaking freshman campaign, lowering her own school record in the 400 meters en route to a fourth-place finish in 56.56. She also added points in the 200 meters, finishing fifth in 25.41 after qualifying with a personal-best 25.18 in the preliminaries.

In the sprints,
Mayda Conrad advanced to the finals of the 60 meters, placing seventh in 7.93 after running 7.84 in the prelims.

The Rangers' middle-distance group added key depth scoring.
Johanna Ebert placed fifth in the mile with a time of 4:56.20 and led a strong showing in the 800 meters.

Parkside's field events generated significant points, highlighted by
Essence Burrows' runner-up finish in the long jump with a mark of 5.89 meters (19'4"). Burrows also placed third in the triple jump (11.19m).
Rachel Blaskowski added a fifth-place finish in the long jump.

Nailah Taylor secured a third-place finish in the high jump (1.59m), and
Kalista Butkiewicz added points with a fifth-place showing in the pole vault (3.29m).

In the throws,
Brooke Mader scored in the weight throw with an eighth-place finish (15.44m).

The Rangers also picked up relay points in both events, finishing sixth in the 4x400 relay (
Jasmine Sieben, Snorek, Ebert, Taylor – 3:58.30) and seventh in the distance medley relay (
Addison Lacy,
Savannah Torrence,
Kylie Kwiatkowski,
Tempi Zondag – 12:58.59).

Lainey Fredrick represented Parkside in the pentathlon, placing eighth overall with 2,984 points.
