SIOUX FALLS, SD. – The Parkside wrestling team opening postseason action on Saturday. The Rangers battled in Super Region V, finishing in second place as a team and sending five Rangers to Nationals.

Shane Corrigan
No. 12 ranked
Shane Corrigan had a first-round bye to open the Super Regional. He would then match up against Carlo Arreloa of SMSU in the quarterfinal match. Corrigan would power his way into the semifinal match in a 20-3 tech fall victory. In the semifinals he would face St Cloud State's Carter Knopick and earn a 7-0 decision to land him in the first place match and book his trip to the National Championships. He would fall short in the championship match, losing by fall but would take home 2
nd place in Super Region V.

Matthew Chi
No. 5 ranked
Matthew Chi would also have a first-round bye, as he would start his day immediately in quarterfinal action. Chi would match up against Dawson Schmidt of Upper Iowa, earning a 10-3 decision victory to advance to the semifinal match. Chi would then meet Sam Spencer of St Cloud State. Chi and Spencer would battle in a narrow match, but Spencer would get the tiebreaker 3-2 sending Chi to the backend of the bracket. There he would match up against Mankato's Chase Beckett. Beckett would get the 8-4 decision over Chi, sending Chi to the 5
th place match. Chi would fall to Wayne Joint of Minot State in a narrow 4-2 decision sealing a 6
th place finish for the junior.

Cayden Henschel

Cayden Henschel would get a first-round bye to send him directly to the quarterfinal match. There he would match up against Connor Whiteley of the host Augustana. Henschel would take the victory in a 10-4 decision to advance to the semifinals. There he would drop a 4-1 decision to Pedro Velazquez, sending him to the backend of the bracket. He would then match up against Colton Hush of Mankato where he would lose a 11-6 decision, sending him to the 5
th place match. Henschel would bounce back, earning the 12-3 major decision over Sioux Falls' Ohme to take home 5
th place in Super Region V.

Easton Worachek
No. 11 ranked
Easton Worachek opened the tournament with a bye, placing him in the quarterfinals. There he would lose by fall, sending him to the backend of the bracket. He would bounce back, earning a 21-2 victory by tech fall over SMSU's Chase Murphy. He would continue to roll, picking up a 6-1 decision over UMary's Trae Thilmony advancing to the consolation semifinals. He would square off against Northern State's Wyatt Trunquist who would beat Worachek in a 7-0 decision. That would send Worachek to the 5
th place match, where he would earn the victory by medical forfeit.

Ben Durocher

Ben Durocher would open his day in quarterfinal action after getting the first round bye. He would cruise to an 8-3 decision over Kaden Renner of UMary to get started. He would then fall in a nail biting 3-2 decision to Mankato's Caleb Meunier sending him to the consolation side of the bracket. Durocher would bounce back, picking up a victory by fall over Griffin Lundeen of Northern State to advance to the 3
rd place match. He would then be set for a rematch with Renner with a trip to the National Championships on the line. Renner would top Durocher in a 11-5 decision, giving Durocher a 4
th place finish in Super Region V.

Dajun Johnson
No. 9 ranked
Dajun Johnson opened the tournament with a major decision victory over Sioux Falls' Cooper Sanders. He followed that performance up with a tech fall victory in the quarterfinals over Moorhead's Anthony Sykora. Johnson then punched his ticket to the National Championships with a sudden victory over Brendan Barnes of Minot to advance to the championship match. There Johnson would fall by sudden victory, securing a 2
nd place finish in Super Region V.

Brady Schuh
Schuh would open the tournament with a high scoring 19-14 decision victory, advancing him to the quarterfinals. There he would lose by fall to Drake Hayword of Mankato. Schuh would then move to the consolation side of the bracket and would start with a 9-6 sudden victory to advance to the consolation semifinals. Schuh would then lose by fall, sending him to the 5
th place match. He would drop a 20-13 decision to Augustana's Coy Gunderson to earn 6
th place in Super Region V.

Reece Worachek
No. 3 ranked
Reece Worachek opened his tournament in the quarterfinals thanks to an opening round bye. He would make quick work, picking up two decision victories to punch his ticket to the National Championships. In the championship match, Worachek would match up against Cade Mueller of Augustana. Mueller would sneak past Worachek in a 502 tiebreaker, giving Worachek a 2
nd place finish in Super Region V.

Chase Stegall
Stegall would open the day strong, winning by fall in his opening bout. He would get a victory by decision over Cannon Potts of Minot State to move to the quarterfinals. There he would fall by decision and move to the backend of the bracket. Stegall would respond well, picking up a major decision victory and a decsion victory to put himself in the 3
rd place match. With a trip to the National Championships on the line, Stegall grabbed a last second takedown to secure the 4-1 decision over UMary's Kaylor earning himself a 3
rd place finish and a trip to the National Championships.

Lloyd Reynolds
Mo. 7 ranked
Lloyd Reynolds started his day with a bye, putting him in the quarterfinals match against Augustana's Max Balow. Balow would get the better of Reynolds, beating him in a 4-0 decision. Reynolds would move to the consolation side of the bracket and would get to work. He would pick up a sudden victory, then two decisions to put him into the 3
rd place match for a rematch with Balow. Reynolds would use a late third period takedown to secure the 4-2 decision while punching his ticket to the National Championships. His victory led to a 3
rd place finish at Super Region V.
