Spuhler Earns Top Spot, Rangers Ranked Third In NWCA Rankings

MANHEIM, Pa.- The National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) released its second set of rankings for the 2025–26 season on Thursday, with the Rangers ranked third as a team. Parkside placed six wrestlers in the individual rankings, highlighted by Jalen Spuhler earning the top spot at 149 pounds.

Parkside totaled 69.5 points in the poll, moving up one spot from November to third overall. The Rangers' six ranked wrestlers are the third-most in NCAA Division II, trailing only Central Oklahoma and Nebraska–Kearney, the two programs ranked ahead of Parkside in the poll.

Spuhler leads the way for the Rangers, claiming the No. 1 ranking at 149 pounds. He is 12-0 on the season and most recently captured the Midwest Classic title for the second time in his career. Spuhler owns three ranked wins this season, including a fall over then-No. 6 Hayden Kuhn at 2:27 in the Midwest Classic championship, and has recorded nine bonus-point victories.

Shane Corrigan is ranked second at 125 pounds in the latest poll. He is 6-1 on the season, with his lone loss coming to No. 1-ranked Trevon Gray in the Midwest Classic championship. Corrigan placed second at the Midwest Classic, posting two ranked wins, and has five bonus-point victories this season.

At 157 pounds, Easton Worachek is ranked fourth nationally for the first time this season. Worachek is 14-2 on the year, highlighted by a title at the Jim Koch Wisconsin Open and second-place finishes at both the Findlay Open and the Midwest Classic. He has recorded seven bonus-point wins this season.

Brody Hemauer checks in at No. 6 at 165 pounds. Hemauer is 8-3 on the season and most recently placed second at the Jim Koch Wisconsin Open and fourth at the Midwest Classic. He has earned five bonus-point victories.
At 174 pounds, Dajun Johnson is ranked fifth nationally. Johnson is 15-3 on the season and captured the Jim Koch Wisconsin Open title, while also placing fourth at the Midwest Classic. He owns two ranked wins and four bonus-point victories this year.

Brady Schuch rounds out the ranked Rangers at No. 11 in the 184-pound weight class. Schuch is 14-6 on the season and most recently placed third at the Jim Koch Wisconsin Open and sixth at the Midwest Classic. He has tallied two ranked wins and seven bonus-point victories.

The Rangers return to dual competition on December 20, hosting Minnesota State Moorhead at De Simone Arena. Action is set to begin at 5:00 p.m.
