AUGUSTA, Mich. – The Parkside men's golf team continued its strong fall campaign with a fifth-place finish at the DU Panther Invitational, held at Stoatin Brae Golf Club in Augusta, Michigan. The Rangers posted a team score of 593 (+25) over two rounds on the par-71 course.
Sophomore Shane Stanley recorded his second consecutive top-10 finish, tying for ninth at +5 (73-74). Stanley opened with a two-over 73 in round one that included a one-under 35 on the front nine. His second round was highlighted by an eagle on the par-five, 566-yard ninth hole.
Ryan Lingelbach joined Stanley in a tie for ninth at +5 (74-73). Lingelbach's steady play was a key for Parkside, as he led the entire field with 26 pars over the two rounds. His second-round 73 included three birdies.
Aleck Simms tied for 17th at +8 (78-72), bouncing back in round two with five birdies and a one-over 72. Tyler Reiter tied for 24th at +9 (73-78), carding three birdies in his opening round.
Rounding out the lineup, Hayden Underhill tied for 37th at +13 (79-76), recording three birdies in round two. Competing as an individual, Bobby Horner finished 46th at +16 (84-74).
The Rangers will close out the fall portion of their schedule October 20–21 at the Whistling Straits Classic, hosted at the historic Whistling Straits Golf Club in Kohler, Wisconsin.
