Hendrix and 4x400 Relay Team Dominate in Day Three of GLIAC Outdoor Championships

Allendale, MI - The Parkside Men's Track and Field competed in day three of the GLIAC Outdoor Championships. The team saw five players stand on the podium on the final day. Overall, the team placed in fifth. 

 

"Another solid day from the team today. We had another school record and a bunch of all conference performers once again," said Head Coach Nick Maas. "We are proud of our team's efforts this week and will miss our amazing seniors. Now we focus on the NCAA Championships with a few folks and prep for next year."

 

The day began early in the morning with the Triple Jump. From the start, the Rangers were able to secure a handful of points. Riley Williams placed in fifth at 13.25m leading the Rangers. Ariel Molina finished in sixth at 12.87m and Brody Nyffenegger placed seventh at 1259m. The three combined for nine Parkside points. 

 

In the 10,000m, Jonathan Nowacki provided a big performance. He placed in fifth at 31:20.03 and earned four Parkside points. 

 

In the first relay of the day, Khalil McClain, Brody Nyffenegger, Zach Neumann, and Thomas Doherty headlined the 4x100m. The four combined for a fourth place finish at 42.25m. They secured five Parkside points. 

 

Grady Davis and Austin Depuydt scored points in the 1500m. Davis placed in fifth place at 3:57.80 and Depuydt finished in seventh at 3:58.56. 

 

In the 110m Hurdles, Simon Dominic scored for Parkside. Dominic placed in seventh at 15.35 and secured two points. 

 

Tommy Martin led the way for Parkside in the 400m. Martin placed sixth at 49.55. Additionally, Michael Cabaltera was right behind him, placing in eighth at 50.33. Both secured Parkside points. 

 

Austin Depuydt was once again on the board. In the 800m, he placed seventh at 1:53.11. Sean Waldvogel was on his tail, placing eighth at 1:53.56. 

 

The biggest performances came at the end of the day for the Rangers. In the 400m Hurdles, Michael Hendrix found a spot on the podium. He placed second at 53.83 and earned All-GLIAC honors. Also, Carter Peet placed in eighth at 1:00.74, securing a point. 

 

In the last event of the day, the 4x400 Relay team had another monster performance. Michael Cabaltera, Sean Waldvogel, Tommy Martin, and Michael Hendrix combined for a second place finish at 3:15.66. As a team, they stood on the podium, securing eight Parkside points.
