KENOSHA, Wis. -- The No. 4 ranked Parkside wrestling team hosted the No. 5 ranked St. Cloud State Huskies on Saturday afternoon. In the battle of NSIC unbeaten, it was the Huskies who were able to down the Rangers by a 27-6 final score.
The dual started at 197lbs and the Rangers struggled to build momentum early. Parkside found themselves down 6-0 with No. 3
Shane Corrigan coming to the mat. Corrigan was able to take down No. 7 ranked Conor Knopick in a sudden victory win 6-3. Corrigan held on to get enough riding time in the third period to force the overtime period where he was able to secure the takedown.
The Rangers were unable to capitalize on the momentum, with the Huskies extending their lead to 15-3 at the intermission.
Parkside was unable to any points on the board until the 184lb bout, where Reece Woracheck was able to get a takedown before time expired in the third period to secure the 6-5 win by decision.
The Rangers will now prepare for the final regular season dual of the season on February 23
rd against Minnesota State Mankato. It will also be senior night for the Rangers in De Simone Arena. The opening bout of the dual is set for 7:00pm. Links to coverage can be found at ParksideRangers.com/coverage.
