KOHLER, Wis. --- The Parkside Men's Golf Team returned to The Straits on Tuesday for the second round of the Kohler Collegiate Classic hosted by Taylor. This tournament is hosted on the well-known "Straits" at Whistling Straits Golf Course. Whistling Straits hosted the 2021 Ryder Cup and the 2004, 2010, and 2015 PGA Championships. The conditions in were extremely challenging as the greens firmed up and the wind blew at 30-40 mph at times.
The Parkside Men's Golf Team finished in 2nd place after shooting a team score on Tuesday of +44 (332) and a total score of +64 (308, 332). The Rangers fought until the end but fell a few shots short of Indiana Wesleyan.
Peter Blazevic finished strong on Tuesday to post a second-round score of 83 (+11). This put Blazevic at +13 for the tournament and in a tie for second place. This is Peter's fourth consecutive finish in the top five this fall.
Hayden Underhill ended his round with a score of 89 (+17). Underhill finished in a tie for fifth place at +14.
Andrew Conrad wrapped up his second round with a few pars near the end to shoot 83 (+11). This put Conrad in 23rd place at +20. Conrad had a solid birdie on the par-3 3rd hole after hitting a pitching wedge to within six feet of the hole.
Aleck Simms finished the Kohler Collegiate with a round of 81 (+9). This was only two shots off the best score on Tuesday. Simms finished in a tie for 26th place.
Matthew Marsollek ended the day at +14 with an 86. This put Marsollek in a tie for 47th place to end the tournament. Marsollek, like Conrad, birdied the par-3 3rd hole.
Landen Savage, competing as an individual this week, fired an 85 on Tuesday to finish at +21 for the tournament. Savage had back-to-back birdies on holes 15 and 16 today to finish his round on a high note. His finish at +21 was tied with Simms for a tie in 26th place.
The Parkside Men's Golf team will be back in action this upcoming weekend for their final tournament of the fall season. The HawksHead Octoberfest Event; hosted by Wayne State will take place in South Haven, Michigan. The link to live scoring will be available at ParksideRangers.com/coverage.
