KOHLER, Wis. --- The Parkside Men's Golf Team returned to action on Monday in the first round of the Kohler Collegiate Classic hosted by Taylor University. This tournament is hosted on the well-known "Straits" at Whistling Straits Golf Course in Sheboygan, WI. Whistling Straits hosted the 2021 Ryder Cup and the 2004, 2010, and 2015 PGA Championships. The Rangers had to battle tough conditions on Monday, including cold temperatures and wind directly off of Lake Michigan.

After round one of the Kohler Collegiate Classic at Whistling Straits, the Parkside Men's Golf Team sits in 2th place after shooting a team score of +20 (308). The Rangers sit only two shots back of Taylor University.
 
Hayden Underhill played exceptionally well on Monday in the cold, windy conditions. Underhill posted a three-under-par round of 69 and currently sits in 1st place overall by two shots. Hayden kept it clean with minimal bogeys in the first round and a few stellar birdies, including the difficult par-4 8th hole.

Peter Blazevic finished with a 74 (+2) score. The third year is tied for 4th place after his exceptional play. Blazevic had yet another eagle today on the par-5 2nd hole to follow up his birdie on the 1st. 

Andrew Conrad ended his day at +9 (81) and is tied for 34th overall. 

Aleck Simms finished with an 84 (+12) score. This is enough to put him tied for 44th place overall heading into Tuesday.

Matthew Marsollek ended the day at +15 with a score of 87. He sits in a tie for 52nd place overall. His day was highlighted by a stellar approach on the par-3 3rd hole to set up a birdie.

Landen Savage, competing as the individual this week, finished his day at +8 (80). The freshman had two excellent birdies on holes two and four. Savage sits in a tie for 27th place overall.


The Parkside Men's Golf team will be back on the course tomorrow in Sheboygan, WI to make a move towards the lead.
