KENOSHA, Wis. -- The No. 4 Parkside wrestling team competed for the first time in 2024, facing the No. 15 University of Mary Marauders on Friday night at De Simone Arena. Parkside took an early lead and held on to win the match by a final score of 21-17.

The Rangers jumped out to a lead in the opening bout of the night. No. 3
Shane Corrigan was able to get two takedowns and cruised to an 8-0 major decision.

UMary answered back, with No. 3
Matthew Chi falling to No. 7 Reece Barnhardt by an 8-2 decision.

Parkside quickly got back to work, with No. 3
Cayden Henschel winning by a 20-4 tech fall in the second round. No. 11
Jalen Spuhler was impressive as well, winning by a 21-4 tech fall in the third round. His win expanded the Ranger lead to 14-3.

The Marauders picked up points with decisions at 175 and 154. No. 12
Ben Durocher lost by a 4-1 sudden victory in a close-fought contest. No. 9
Brady Schuh lost a tight contest as well, with a late takedown proving to be the difference in a 10-9 decision.

Brody Hemauer put together one of the best performances of the night, defeating No. 5 Max Bruss by an 11-1 major decision. Hemauer led 3-0 after the first and added a takedown and an escape in the second to build a 7-0 lead. He picked up one more takedown in the third and got a bonus point for riding time, securing the 11-1 major decision.
No. 8
Reece Worachek picked up a tight 4-2 decision win over No. 9 Wyatt Lidberg. In their third matchup of the season, Worachek was able to pick up a third-period takedown to secure the 4-2 win by decision.

UMary was able to pick up a win by tech fall at 197. They then picked up three final points, with
Lloyd Reynolds falling in three overtimes to No. 7 Luke Tweeton by a 3-2 decision.
