Underhill Cards Second Round 69 to Take Lead, Parkside sits Fourth as a Team

BIG RAPIDS, Mich. – The Parkside men's golf team opened the 2023-24 season on Monday afternoon with two of the three rounds at the Bulldog Classic, hosted at Katke Golf Course. The Rangers sit tied for fourth as a team after two rounds and Hayden Underhill leads the tournament after firing a two-under 69 in round two. 
 
Parkside led the tournament after the first round, shooting a +7 (291). The Rangers fell back in the second round, shooting +17 (301). The Rangers sit in a tie for fourth, just six shots off the lead behind Northwood University.
 
Underhill leads the tournament at -1 (141). Underhill shot a one over 72 in round one, then drained five birdies in round two en route to a two-under 69. He played the par 5's in four under on the day.
 
Peter Blazevic sits tied for 15th at +6 (72-76=148). Aleck Simms is tied for 21st after shooting +7 (72-77=149). Simms has taken advantage of the par 3's, playing them in -3 over the two rounds.
 
Matt Marsollek is competing as an individual and sits tied for 29th after shooting +9 on the day (73-78=151). Andrew Conrad shot +12 (75-79=154) and sits tied for 48th and Garrett Olson sits tied for 76th after shooting +20 (81-81=162).
 
The Rangers will return to action for the final round of the Bulldog Classic tomorrow morning. The final round will commence at 9:15pm (ET). Live scoring can be found at ParksideRangers.com/coverage.
