NORMAN, Okla. --- The 2022-23 GCAA All-America Scholars have been announced for the Division II level. Chase Fisk, Garrett Olson, Danny Sanicki, and Steven Sanicki earned the honors based upon their athletic and academic performance during the 2022-23 season.Â
Student-athletes must be a sophomore, junior, or senior both academically and athletically at a NCAA Division I, II, III, or NAIA institutions or receiving their Associates degree and in their last year of athletic eligibility in the NJCAA. In addition, they must participate in 50% of their team's competitive rounds, have a stroke average under 76.0 in NCAA Division I, under 78.0 in NCAA Division II, under 79.0 in NCAA Division III, under 78.0 in NAIA, and under 77.0 in NJCAA, and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2. Recipients also must display high moral character and be in good standing at their institution.Â
216 athletes from 80 different schools earned 2022-23 GCAA All-America Scholar honors.Â
Steven had the lowest average of the four receiving the honors with a 74.92 stroke average for the 2022-23 season. Danny followed closely behind with a 75.58 average. Olson finished with an average score of 76.73. Fisk carried a 77.3 stroke average for the 2022-23 season.Â
The Rangers men's golf team will open up their 2023 fall season at the Bulldog Fall Classic at Katke Golf Course in Big Rapids, Mich. The two day competition starts on September 18th.
