Rangers Earn A Pair of Second Place Finishes at WLC Warrior Invite

KENOSHA, Wis. - The Parkside track & field team traveled to Milwaukee, Wis. on Thursday to compete at the Warrior Invite hosted by Wisconsin Lutheran College. The Rangers had a strong performance, coming away with second places finishes on both the men's and women's scoreboards.  The men's squad finished with 123 points, just 12 points behind Marquette, who won the meet with 135 points. The women's team finished with 101.5 points, also falling to a Marquette squad that put up 191.5 points.

POINT SCORER'S ON THE WOMEN'S SIDE
The Rangers dominated in the 800m, placing five runners in the top eight. Katja Baeuerle led the charge with a first-place finish with a time of 2:13.62. Sonja Mitrovic placed second in 2:16.96. Audrey Amaya placed fourth, with Grace Mildice placing fifth and Cecilia Quevedo placing seventh. The five totaled 29 points for the Rangers team score.

Rachel Blaskowski continues to impress early in her career, coming away with a first-place finish in the long jump with a mark of 5.39m. Victoria Lendal placed third, and Brooke Soles placed seventh in the event. The three combined for 18 points.

Amber Tomazevic won the pole vault with a clearance of 3.05m.

The 4x400 meter relay team, which featured Baeuerle, Brown, Mildice, and Hallie Hoger, won the event in 4:13.28

Emily Elford placed second in the 200-meter dash with a time of 27.52. Janay Brown placed fourth and Savannah Wittig placed fifth. The three combined for 15 points.

Mckenna Armstrong placed second in the triple jump with a jump of 10.50m.

Ella Rondeau placed third in the 1,500m with a personal best 5:04.87, earning six points.

Iyana Simmons placed fifth in the high jump, clearing 1.50m and earning three and a half points for the team.

Emily Maynard placed seventh in the javelin with a throw of 26.62m, scoring a pair of points for the Rangers.
 
POINT SCORERS ON THE MEN'S SIDE
The Rangers dominated the 1,500m race, putting nine runners in the top ten. Walker Miller led the way with a personal best 3:58.40. Grady Davis and Wil Kiley finished right behind him in 4:00 and 4:01. Sean Waldvogel and Erik Johnson rounded out the top five. Isaac Fullmer placed seventh, followed by Thomas Diamond, Jose Monroy, and Max Rahm.

Similar to the women's 800m squad, the men scored a lot of points in the event. Austin Depuydt won the 800m with a personal best 1:54.06. Michael Cabaltera placed second in the 1:56.60. Konner Akey placed sixth, with Tommy Martin finishing right behind in seventh. The four combined for 23 points.

The 4x100 meter relay team, which featured Ward, Zachary Neumann, Thomas Doherty, and Brody Nyffenegger, won the event in 43.30.

Parkside ran two teams in the 4x400 meter relay. The "A" team, which contained Cabaltera, Depuydt, Jared Furman, and Michael Hendrix, won the race in 3:23.47. The "B" team, featuring Metzdorf, Neumann, Akey, and Schneider, placed second in 3:35.61.

Hendrix won the pole vault with a mark of 4.15 meters.

Simon Dominic placed second in the 110m hurdles with a time of 16.14 seconds.

Fischer Schneider placed third in the 400-meter dash with a new personal best time of 51.83 seconds.

David Ward placed fourth in the 100-meter dash with a personal best time of 11.52 seconds.

Three Rangers scored in the triple jump, with Nyffenegger leading the way in sixth place. Elijah Fairbanks placed seventh, with Riley Williams placing eighth.

Jack Lehocky placed fifth in the high jump by clearing 1.65 meters.

Furman placed sixth in the long jump with a PR mark of 5.95 meters.

Dalton Metzdorf placed seventh in the 200-meter dash with a personal best 23.70.
