Parkside's Homestand Finale Precedes Five-Game Road Stretch

Kenosha, Wis. - Following the commencement of conference play, Parkside is set to shift gears and continue their non-conference schedule. The concluding chapter of their four-game homestand unfolds against Clarke on Monday at 4:00 pm, propelling them into a quick turnaround as they hit the road on Tuesday for a face-off against Lewis at 3:00 pm.
 

Scouting Parkside: The Parkside Rangers enter the week with an overall record of 5-4. They began the season with a monumental win against the #5 ranked Indianapolis. Parkside accumulated significant victories against Illinois-Springfield and Maryville University, the latter marking Head Coach Luke Reigel's 300th win. In their first conference battle against Lake Superior State, Parkside put together a stellar performance from beyond the arc, shooting 11-20 (55%). Josiah Palmer has been the star for Parkside this season, averaging 16 points and 5.2 assists per game. The team has also received fantastic production from freshman Rokas Castillo, who is averaging 5.7 points and 3.4 assists per game. Castillo has notched seven steals on the season.

Scouting Clarke: Stationed in Iowa, Clarke University competes at the NAIA level. The Pride have struggled in recent contests, dropping six straight. Overall, they hold a 3-8 record and a 1-6 standing in the Heart of America Athletic Conference. As a team, they have surrendered at least 90 points three times this season. Their best win came against William Penn in their conference opener, securing a 98-90 victory. Junior guard Biggie Luster leads the Pride, averaging 14.9 points per game.
 

Scouting Lewis: The Lewis Flyers are old rivals of the Parkside Rangers, competing in the GLVC since 2008. Lewis holds a 4-4 overall record and a 2-1 standing in conference games in the young season. Their only conference loss came to Indianapolis. Lewis dropped both of their games to GLIAC opponents in the Midwest Crossover, falling to both Wayne State and Ferris State. The team has four players averaging double-digit points, with Beau Frericks leading the pack at 15.4 points per game, shooting 45% from the field.
 

Up Next: Parkside will conclude the 2023 portion of their schedule with a New Year's Eve battle against Winona State University on the road. The game will begin at 2:00 pm in Minnesota.
