#15 Upper Iowa 18, #8 Parkside 17
It came right down to the end, but the No. 15 ranked Upper Iowa wrestling team spoiled Parkside's senior night on Wednesday night at De Simone Arena. The match was also Academic Achievement Night, where Parkside Athletics honored 168 student-athletes that earned over a 3.25 GPA this past Fall.

The 2022 regular season is in the books for Parkside, who finished 5-4 overall and 5-3 in the NSIC. The Rangers will look ahead to the 2022 NCAA II Super Region V Championships, which will take place next Saturday in Moorhead, Minn.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The match started at 125 pounds, with No. 3 ranked
Joseph Arroyo vs. Dakota Henry. Arroyo got the Rangers off the nice start with a 16-1 technical fall, but the Peacocks came back to win the next two matches and go up 6-5.
Nathan Hensley earned a big win at 149, beating Connor Manderfeld in an 8-3 decision.

After UIU got a decision at 157, redshirt-junior and No. 3 ranked
Shane Gantz improved to 26-0 this season with a 22-7 technical fall at 165 and No. 6
Job Ayala got a major decision at 174 to put Parkside up 17-9. The Peacocks got two huge decisions at 184 and 197, making the score 17-15 Parkside. It came down to heavyweight, where Jordan Baumier got an 8-2 decision over
Nate Lloyd to seal the match for the Peacocks.

After the match was over, two extra matches finished off the night, but
Eric Bauer and
Adrian Cervantes both lost their match.

WHAT'S NEXT
With the final regular season dual in the books, Parkside wrestling will wait until next weekend to hit the road and compete at the NCAA II Super Region Championships in Moorhead, Minn., on Saturday, Feb. 26. The NCAA II Championships are set for Friday/Saturday, March 11/12 in St. Louis, Mo.
