KENOSHA, Wis. – Katja Baeuerle of the Parkside cross country team has qualified for the NCAA Division II National Championships, the NCAA announced Monday. Baeuerle, a sophomore from Bretten, Germany, received an open bid following her tenth-place finish at the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional Championships on Saturday, Nov. 19. Also receiving individual bids out of the Midwest region are Bradley Weimer (Drury), Liz Wamsley (Hillsdale), and Meg Sheske (Hillsdale). Grand Valley State, Cedarville, Saginaw Valley State, and Wayne State all received team bids for the championship race.
"Katja has worked so hard to qualify for nationals," said Head Coach
Nick Maas. "Last year she was the first one out in both indoor and outdoor track, but never gave up! Leading into the race we decided that this was her time and to go for it from the start. She definitely earned this and I'm excited to help her over the next couple weeks to make Parkside proud!"
The NCAA Division II Cross Country National Championships are scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 3 in Seattle, Was. For more information, visit
