KENOSHA, WI - With the school year around the corner, the Parkside Cross Country team has their track set for the 2023 season. Nick Maas is set to lead the pack for his 5th consecutive season.
With just weeks left until the season inaugurates, Maas expressed his emotions for the start of the season. "I am always definitely excited about the home meets as we host on our beautiful Wayne E. Dannehl National Cross Country Course." The Vic Godfrey Open marks the start of the season for the Rangers on the first day in September.
Wayne E. Dannehl National Cross Country Course will be an ordinary site for the Rangers in 2023, as they open their first three meets all at home. They will host the Lucian Rosa Invite on the 23rd of September, and The Ranger Open on the 30th of September.
Following a month of sticking around in Kenosha, the team will hit the road and head to Illinois for their biggest contest of the fall. Maas recognizes the challenge, but is prepared to embrace it. "Our meet at the Lewis Cross-Over will be a critical meet for us as many of the top NCAA D2 programs will be in attendance and allow us to truly test ourselves." The Rangers are slated to clash at the Lewis Cross-Over on the 7th of October.
By late October, Parkside will participate in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference meet in Houghton, Michigan. The fall season finalizes with the NCAA Midwest Regional Championships on November 4th in Evansville, Indianapolis.
