KENOSHA, Wis. – Redshirt-junior Shane Gantz has been named the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Wrestler of the Week, the conference office announced on Monday.

Gantz, who's ranked No. 5 at 165 pounds, went 3-0 before winning the Championship at 165 pounds at the Findlay Open on Saturday. He earned a pin in round one over Brett Goff of West Liberty, then a technical fall over Austin Mele of Wheeling in the quarterfinals. He followed that with a 4-0 decision in the semifinals over NCAA Division I Kent State's Aaron Ferguson before winning the championship via medical forfeit over No. 1 Alex Farenchak of Gannon. Gantz improved to 9-0 this season for the Rangers and also claimed the Championship at the Pointer Open earlier this season.
 
Parkside will take the Thanksgiving Weekend off before hosting the 50^th annual Jim Koch Open on Saturday, Dec. 4. They'll also welcome in No. 1 St. Cloud State on Friday, Dec. 10 for the first NSIC dual of the season.
