KENOSHA, Wis. – The Parkside Wrestling team hosted the 48
th annual Jim Koch Open, and were led by a couple first place finishes in
Joseph Arroyo (125) and
Airk Furseth (133).

At 125 pounds, Arroyo opened his day going 3-0 with a pair of technical falls in his first two matches. He finished off his championship run by winning a 12-6 decision over Maryville's Tyler Kreith. Furseth also went 4-0 on the day, with his championship win coming from a 7-5 decision over Iowa's Gavin Teasdale.
The Rangers had one final championship match in
Nathan Smith (149), but unfortunately fell a little short as he fell to Iowa's Jeren Glosser.
Nathan Hensley and
Rodsean Graham also finished third, while
Robby Mutimer and
Subhan Umar finished in fourth.
The team will have a short turnaround and be right back in action as they'll head to the Midwest Classic hosted by UIndy on Dec. 14 & 15.
