(Feb. 6, 2016)-- The 23rd-ranked University of Wisconsin-Parkside men's basketball squad was a well-oiled machine on Saturday afternoon, delighting the Alumni Day crowd with a 93-57 blowout win at the expense of Rockhurst University in a Great Lakes Valley Conference showdown inside DeSimone Gymnasium.

The win along with Bellarmine University's 66-56 road setback to Drury University put the Rangers (18-3, 11-2 GLVC) back in a three-way tie for first place in the East Division with the aforementioned Knights and the University of Indianapolis.

The Rangers were dialed in from the onset, scoring eight of the first nine points and utilizing an 18-2 run to build a 22-point buffer with 4:13 left in the first half. UW-Parkside led 22-16 with 9:18 left before embarking on a scoring binge that included 18 of the next 20 points, including 14 straight while the Hawks (10-11, 5-8 GLVC) misfired on 11 consecutive shots from the field.
Adam Bonk sparked the surge, sinking a three while all told, the Rangers drained four treys during the spurt getting a pair from
Alexander Brown and another from
Jalen Currie to build a 40-18 edge.

UW-Parkside enjoyed a 44-26 lead at the halftime intermission, shooting 58.1 percent (18-for-31) from the floor while limiting Rockhurst to shooting a paltry 28.6 percent (10-for-35) from the field and an anemic 10 percent (one-for-10) from beyond the arc. The Green and White owned at least a 19-point cushion the entire second half, gliding to the program's 31st consecutive GLVC home victory while
Andy Mazurczak tied Ranger legend Stevie King (1974-1978) was the winningest player in program history, with both players accumulating 87 wins while donning the Parkside uniform.

12 of the 13 Rangers who suited up scored points with three ending the afternoon in double figures. Mazurczak collected his first double-double of the year, finishing with 12 points and 10 boards while
Kyle Flanagan had 12 points and five boards in just 16 minutes of action.
Alexander Brown had 11 while
Kendale McCullum,
Jake Verhagen, and
Chavares Flanigan all added nine points.

Dominique Washington was the lone Hawk in double figures, pacing the Kansas City outfit with 16 points.

UW-Parkside owned a 50-33 rebounding edge and shot 53.2 percent (33-for-62) from the floor in a game the hosts led wire-to-wire.
